This is one of my all-time favorite parts of the writing process--the trailer. It's so amazing to see a book brought to life through media like this. It's also hard to believe that Wolfsbane releases in a mere two months! WOW!! Time sure does fly when you're having fun, eh?
While I have you here, I thought I'd share some more endorsements that have come in for Wolfsbane. Here they are:
Ronie Kendig serves up a mix of machinegun-fast action, touching romance, and more twists than a coil of detonator wire. Get a good grip on the edge of your seat before you start reading! --Rick Acker, author of When the Devil Whistles and Dead Man’s Rule
Wolfsbane is a fast-paced, military suspense with just the right amount of romance to keep readers flipping pages. Ronie Kendig's smooth writing style, realistic scenes, and vivid characters blend beautifully for a must-read experience. A definite keeper!~Robin Caroll, author of Deliver Us From Evil and In The Shadow of Evil
Gripping. Compelling. Gritty. Intense. And that's just the first few pages. You're in for a wild but fulfilling ride. ~Lenora Worth, author of Body of Evidence
Just in case you haven't seen it, here's the blurb for this third installment in the Discarded Heroes series:
Demolitions expert Danielle Roark has been left behind in hostile territory during a mission with Nightshade. Former Green Beret and medic Canyon Metcalfe, beset with memories of another mission gone bad, vows to rescue her, sacrificing everything. As secrets unravel, will Canyon and Dani find healing, closure, and each other? Or will rescue come too late? Also, Amazon now has a sample preview of the first chapters available. If you haven't already, rush on over there and drop into the chaos that is Canyon "Midas" Metcalfe's life!
PRE-ORDER Wolfsbane
And without further ado, here's the trailer. Give a peek and tell me what you think!
Woo-hooo!!!!!! I am ECSTATIC for my dear friend, Robin Caroll, and the release of her first full-length novel, Deliver Us From Evil (B&H Publishing). Robin really hit her stride with this release, and it's such an honor to host her here for an interview (of course, I know all her dirty secrets, but I won't be sharing those with ya--the whole trust thing, ya know. ::grins::).
Why did you start writing?
I’ve always had stories to tell. Even in lower elementary school, I would write out stories in my notebooks. I began writing toward publication in the early 2000s.
You have a number of books out with Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense. But this is your first full-length fiction. Can you tell us what that means to you, and how it’s been a different experience working with the B&H team?
Just writing a category versus a single title is so different. The word count is much longer, so you have to adjust the pacing of the story. The conflict and tension can be spread out more in a single title length book. Several subplots can be woven into a single title. Working with the B&H team has been AMAZING. From the editing to the marketing to the art design of the cover and book trailer, to the sales team, as well as the assistants and administrators, I’ve had the most positive experience ever. I love the B&H family, and yes, we really DO think of each other as family.
Many of your books involve injustice scenarios. Why is that a passion for you? Injustice is something that truly stirs my passion. So many people deal with injustice on a daily basis—my own family included. I believe, as Christians, we’re called to stand up for injustices. I hope my stories reveal that despite injustices in life, God is always with us.
Why do you write?
Because it’s part of who I am. I don’t think I could ever NOT write.
What would you be doing with your free time if you weren’t writing?
Scrapbooking and spending more time with family and friends
What are you working on right now?
Right now, I’m completing the last book in the “evil” trilogy.
Tell us about the book you have out right now.
Deliver Us From Evil is about a beautiful yet tough woman working in a beautiful yet tough setting, Brannon Callahan is a search and rescue helicopter pilot for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Strong faith and a decorated history of service have kept her one step ahead of on-the-job dangers, but there’s no precedent for what’s about to happen. After a blizzard takes down a small plane carrying U.S. Marshal Roark Holland (already haunted by a recent tragedy), Brannon must save him in more ways than one and safeguard the donor heart he’s transporting to a government witness on the edge of death. Otherwise the largest child trafficking ring in history—with shocking links from Thailand to Tennessee—will slip further away into darkness along the Appalachian Trail.
How important is faith in your books?
Very important because my faith is important to me as a person. I don’t think you can pull out the faith element in a personality in real life, and I certainly don’t want to do that in my characters.
What is your favorite book you’ve written and why?
Now that’s like asking a parent who their favorite child is! LOL Each book has elements that hold special places in my heart.
What is your writing schedule like?
Crazy? LOL I normally try to “work” between 8-2, to work around my children’s schedules. But life often interrupts, or deadlines sneak up on me, and then all bets are off! LOL

Hey, y'all! Awesome friend and crit partner, Robin Caroll has a wonderful trailer up and live for her book DELIVER US FROM EVIL from B&H Publishing (February 2010). Check it out!!
From September 17-21, 2008, more than five hundred writers, agents, and editors converged on the Sheraton Bloomington in Minneapolis, MN for the American Christian Fiction Writers annual conference. I worked throughout the conference in a few different capacities, but it was still a superb time! I met with the incredible Barbara Scott, my editor (hey! I actually have an editor now!!) from Abingdon Press. In all honesty, I didn't expect her to remember much about my story since I knew she was working on the macros for multiple other books at the moment. But she had an uncanny recall! And it was so clear to me that she caught the vision and passion for Dead Reckoning. I'm absolutely amazed and even more thrilled now about working with her!
Here are some photos from the conference. Hope you enjoy them--they'll keep me smiling for years to come.
Me presenting during the Book of the Year Awards
Me and awesome friend Sara Mills
Me and my fabo Agent-Man, Steve Laube
Me with Robin and her boas (yes, there is a story behind that, and no, we're not telling. LOL)
Me with "big brother" John Olson...he was humming (im)patiently while Dineen lined up the photo *just right*...I couldn't stop laughing.
Me with the amazing Sharon Hinck!
I'll have more photos later. First, have to get caught up on schtuff. :-D
Well, I couldn't. To me, taking that rod in my hand was the equivalent of saying, I'll trust you. I'll hope in you. And I was at a point where I'd been hurt so many times extending my faith and trust, that I was too wounded to lift my arm.

I told Neen about this, and the more I talked about the rod, the more solidified it became. Until finally, tears streaming down my face, I reached out and latched on to it.
Deep in the “boot” of Louisiana, Cajun country, an alligator environmentalist, CoCo LeBlanc, finds a body in the bayou. A body that just happens to be the grandfather of her ex-boyfriend, Luc Trahan. When she and her family are prime suspects in the murder, CoCo pushes aside her personal problems with Luc to find the real killer. Among voodoo, multiple suspects, and a long-standing family vendetta, CoCo and Luc must work together to prove their innocence. . .before the real murderer reveals himself, and becomes a threat to them.
I am honored to host one of my closest friends and beautiful/fabulous critique partner, Robin Caroll (aka: Robin Miller)! Robin currently serves as the President of the American Christian Fiction Writers and did a fabulous job on preparing and assembling all the incredible aspects of the conference hosted in Dallas. THANK YOU, GIRL!! And Congrats on seeing your hard work in print...FINALLY!!!! ;-)Bayou Justice (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense) is peppered with Robin’s Cajun flare and spice. The plot is well-structured and her main characters are strong and believable as they work together to solve the murder plaguing the town of Lagniappe. Robin’s amazing ability to weave in culture and history carry this story in a compelling manner that is indicative of her unique, saucy style. She had my mouth watering for etouffee and sweat dribbling down my back from the smothering heat. Bayou Justice is a must read!
Here is a photo of me with Robin Caroll in 2005 as finalists in the Noble Theme (now, Genesis) Contest. ENTER NOW to win a copy of Robin's book!!! Leave a comment about a favorite memory of either meeting Robin or visiting Louisiana. Best story wins!! :-D
I am so excited about the 2007 ACFW Conference! I've attended the last two, but this will be my first going as an agented author. That's a glorious feeling. Oh--speaking of which--or whom--my fabulous agent STEVE LAUBE let me interrogate...er, I mean interview him regarding his experience, advice, and thoughts on the ACFW Conference. That will be posted tomorrow, so be sure to come back!!
In 2005, I attended my first ACFW conference--and had a meltdown. LOL I was up for the Noble Theme (now the Genesis) in the Science Fiction category with my futuristic story. I was face to face with way more editors and agents than I ever thought possible. I had my expectations soaring over the moon. I'd thought, "This is it. I'm going to rocket to success because of my time here." That was the worst possible mentality to attend a conference with. But it's a contagious thought. To all us attendees stay grounded, the amazing Karen Ball lightened up the mood and seriousness of the conference (and boy can she minister!!!) with the "I have a castle!" goldfish moments. LOL My daughter still says that to me. SIGH.

Some totally *awesome* things at this conference were hanging with my crit partners, getting a huge hug from Amanda, meeting my buddy and advocate John Olson face-to-face, but most of all, sitting at the dinner table with Steve Friday night and talking about my book he'd *just* rejected (no, I never did mention how he'd crushed me LOL). Together we realized there was a misconception about an integral aspect of the story, and I can readily admit that part of that error was mine--in the wording I had used. But that conversation opened the door for me to rewrite my ending and send him the full again. Four months later, I got THE CALL from THE Steve Laube. LOL :-D
This year, I'm looking forward to volunteering, meeting Steve as his CLIENT, hugging new/old friends, meeting up and brainstorming with my buddy again, making new friends, and just being a writer. A weird, psychotic writer. LOLOL Oh, come--aren't we all???
I thought I'd post some more pictures of my previous conference experiences. Enjoy--and don't forget STEVE LAUBE'S INTERVIEW TOMORROW!!
